Wrestling Wrap Up 3/12/2012

Tonight’s Raw hails from Cleveland, Ohio and it’s also the home of the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. It is that connection that drives the theme for tonight’s show. After two weeks of Rock and John Cena having verbal battles, it’s time for them to show us their musical chops. It’s also time for us to get a little more info on HBK’s involvement in the Hell in a Cell match between Undertaker and HHH. Lets see what tickled my fancy and incurred my wrath.

Wrestling Wrap Up 2/27/2012

Coming off last week’s first Road to Wrestlemania Raw, this week aims to keep the train chugging. John Cena blasted The Rock last week and this week The Rock is back to up the ante. Tonight’s Raw comes to us from Portland, Oregon. The show is shaping up to be explosive. Did it live up to expectations?

Wrestling Wrap Up 2/13/2012

Tonight’s Raw takes place from a whale’s vagina or as the Spanish call it, San Diego, California. Johnny Ace is still the Interim General Manager of Monday Night Raw and The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels is scheduled to appear. With the build for Elimination Chamber in full force and the prospect of Wrestlemania on the horizon, I was really curious to see where tonight’s Raw takes us.

Wrestling Wrap Up 2/6/2012

This week the show comes from Oklahoma City, OK. Hopefully, we will find out the fate of John Laurinaitis as the interim general manager of RAW. Last week, The Undertaker made his return (finally) to confront HHH. Triple H brushed him off and walked away. I’m interested to see if we will see a 3rd Mania match between them or it will be a bust. Also, I’m hoping for Brodus Clay to destroy whats left of the lower-card talent and see how many times my boi, D-Bryan say’s “YES!” this week. So let’s get packing!

Wrestling Wrap Up 1/30/2012

Tonight’s Raw comes to us from Kansas City, Missouri. It comes hot and heavy on the heels of last night’s Royal Rumble. Before I jump into my thought’s on tonight’s Monday Night Raw, I figured I’d give you some of my thoughts on last night’s events. The Royal Rumble is widely regarded as the third largest Pay Per View show that WWE will produce every year and last night didn’t measure up on any scale. The matches themselves had a lot of potential for great things but in almost every case that potential was squandered by strange outcomes or awkward finishes. The World Heavyweight Championship match was the first ever Steel Cage match at a Royal Rumble and it was all of ten minutes long. Not a single member of the match showed any effects of being in one of WWE’s more gruesome matches and the ending sent a lot of shock waves through the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) because it was so abrupt that many thought it had to be a mistake. The John Cena/Kane match was basically everything I expected it to be but it leaves the door open for more to be mined from this feud. The only problem with that is Cena has a little match at Wrestlemania against the Rock. So I’ve got to ask the simple question. What’s the point in continuing a feud that has continued to build instead of paying off, when there is a finite amount of time to work with? The pay off is going to feel rushed and it’ll make all the good work they’ve done in the past month all for naught. The WWE Championship match was a good back and forth between two of the best guys WWE has but adding the fact that HHH was going to be evaluating Johnny Ace’s position on Raw, took all the teeth out of this match. It’s the same story as Cena/Kane. Punk and Johnny have gone back and forth for the better part of two months and when a pay off is finally within reach, it’s dropped for a swerve and in the end it ruins the everything. The Royal Rumble match itself was anticlimactic in the sense that WWE built the match around the idea that ANY superstar was eligible for entry. After all the superstars had entered and a winner was declared, I have to ask, was anyone surprised at who entered the Rumble? The more appropriate question would be, was anyone surprised at who didn’t enter the Rumble?

At the conclusion of the Rumble, I was left unsatisfied by the entirety of the show but WWE did provide some very memorable moments and I had a personal victory amongst the Snowball Summit staff but I’d say there was a collective sense of feeling underwhelmed by what we had just seen. Tonight’s Raw has to start the build for Wrestlemania and with as many questions as we were left with from last night, it has a lot to do and not a whole lot of TV time to do it in. So with the time that they did have, does WWE get the job done at answering questions and setting us on the right path for a massive Wrestlemania, the likes of which we’ve never seen before? Find the answers after the break.

Wrestling Wrap Up 1/16/2012

Well a lot has gone down since we last covered a Monday Night Raw and there is no way I can even try to summarize it. Suffice it to say, we’ve had some major returns. Kane has returned, with a killer mask, and is stalking John Cena and Zack Ryder. Chris Jericho has returned and well, uh, he’s got a jacket that lights up. It’s two weeks before the Royal Rumble and the excitement is building for one of the biggest pay per views of the year. Tonight’s Raw comes to us from Anaheim, California. If you’ve never seen a Wrestling Wrap Up before, then I’ll explain my pops and heat take on tonight’s show. A pop is an industry term used to describe a crowd reaction of cheers. Heat is an industry term to describe a hostile crowd reaction. So with all the formalities out-of-the-way, lets jump into this weeks Wrap Up.

Wrestling Wrap Up 8/8/2011

Tonight’s Raw comes from San Jose, California. Punk and Cena had a pose off. How are the stakes going to be raised with less than week before Summerslam? Just like a few weeks ago, tonight’s show was basically completely forgettable except for the final segment. There were some moments during the show that were important but not really anything special. Continue reading
